Emberling — Privacy Policy
How Emberling collects, uses, and protects your data.

Who we are
Emberling is a self-care companion app and a product of CloudServe Apps, a division of RAMSIO CLOUDSERVE INFOTECH PRIVATE LIMITED (CIN: U62091KA2025PTC210162), Registered Office: #36, WeWork Prestige Central, Infantry Road, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560001, India.
The short version
Emberling has no accounts and no sign-in. Everything you do in Emberling — your check-ins, tasks, journal entries, and preferences — is stored only on your own device. We do not run any analytics or tracking software inside Emberling, and we do not see, collect, or receive your data. If you choose to subscribe to Emberling Plus, your purchase is handled by Apple or Google using a subscription-management service that only ever sees an anonymous identifier — never your name, email, or payment details.
Data we do not collect
Emberling does not require or ask for:
- An account, sign-in, name, email address, or phone number
- Location data
- Contacts, photos, or files (beyond a backup file you explicitly choose to create and share yourself — see below)
- Advertising identifiers
- Analytics, crash reports, or usage tracking of any kind
There is no analytics SDK, crash-reporting SDK, or advertising SDK in Emberling. We verified this directly against the app's dependency tree before writing this policy.
Data that stays on your device
Emberling stores the following locally, in an on-device database, and never transmits it anywhere unless you explicitly create and share a backup file yourself:
- Energy check-ins and micro-adventure completions
- Hearth care tasks and their completion history
- Journal entries (wind-down reflections and gratitude lines)
- App preferences (warmth color, reminder settings, onboarding state)
Uninstalling Emberling deletes this data along with the app, the same as any other on-device app data. You can also delete everything yourself at any time from Settings → "Delete all data," without uninstalling.
Local notifications
If you turn on Emberling's optional morning and evening reminders, they are scheduled entirely on your device using your operating system's notification system. We never know whether you have reminders turned on, and no reminder-related data leaves your device. Reminders are entirely opt-in during onboarding (or skippable) and can be turned off anytime in Settings with no penalty.
Backup files
You can create a backup of your Emberling data (check-ins, tasks, journal entries, and preferences) at any time from Settings → "Save a backup file." This file is created only when you ask for it, and it is written to your device and shared through your operating system's normal share sheet — you decide where it goes (your own file storage, email, cloud drive, messaging app, etc.). We do not receive a copy, and Emberling has no server to send it to even if we wanted to. Restoring a backup requires you to explicitly select a file and type a confirmation phrase before any existing on-device data is replaced.
Purchases and Emberling Plus
Emberling Plus is an optional subscription or one-time purchase. All purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never see or store your payment details. To verify your purchase and unlock Emberling Plus features, Emberling uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management service that acts as our data sub-processor for this purpose only. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, app-generated identifier (not linked to your name, email, or any account, because Emberling has none) along with purchase/entitlement status from the app store. RevenueCat does not receive your check-ins, tasks, journal entries, or any other content you create in Emberling — that data never leaves your device.
Purchase-verification activity happens automatically each time you open Emberling or bring it back to the foreground, but only on a build where Emberling Plus purchases are enabled — that is, once RevenueCat is configured for a released version of the app. On that kind of build, Emberling checks your store account for an existing Emberling Plus entitlement so a returning subscriber sees their status right away, without needing to open the Plus screen or buy anything; this happens whether or not you ever subscribe. If you are running a build where purchases are not enabled (for example, an internal or development build with no store keys configured), this check never happens at all, and the app remains fully offline with no network calls of any kind. Either way, this check never transmits your check-ins, tasks, journal entries, or any other content you create in Emberling — only an anonymous entitlement status.
Children
Emberling is not directed at children under 13. Because Emberling does not collect any personal data from anyone — adult or child — there is no data collection to distinguish by age. Emberling's declared target audience for store purposes is 13+, reflecting that its content (self-care check-ins, references to low mood, and crisis-support resources) is written for a general audience rather than young children.
Crisis support resources
Emberling's support screen lists real, regional mental-health helplines (for India, the US, and international resources) so that anyone who needs more than an app can find it. These are wellness-positioning resources, not medical advice — Emberling does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical or clinical services. Tapping a resource opens your phone's dialer, messaging app, or browser directly to the third-party service; Emberling does not log which resource you tapped or whether you did.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes, because we do not collect it in the first place. The only data-sharing relationship described in this policy is the RevenueCat sub-processor arrangement above, which exists solely to verify optional purchases.
Changes to this policy
If Emberling's data practices change — for example, if a future version adds an optional feature that collects data — we will update this policy and the in-app version before that feature ships, consistent with the wellness-vocabulary and honesty commitments this app is built on.
Your rights (India DPDP Act, 2023)
If you are located in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you rights over your personal data. Because Emberling does not collect personal data from you, most of these rights have nothing to act on — but if you have questions, a concern, or believe this policy is inaccurate, you can reach our Grievance Officer:
